(born February 17, 1981) is an American celebutante, singer, actress, model, and businesswoman.

She is best-known through the television series The Simple Life. She has appeared in several minor film roles, most notably in the horror film House of Wax in 2005. In 2004 she published a tongue-in-cheek autobiography. In 2006, she released her debut album Paris. Hilton's career pursuits include singing, modeling, acting, writing, and television. As a result of several legal incidents, Hilton served a widely publicized sentence in a Los Angeles County jail facility in 2007.

Paris Hilton: Early life and background
paris_400.jpg

Born in New York City, Hilton is the oldest of four children of Richard and Kathy Hilton (née Avanzino). She has a sister, Nicky, and brothers, Barron and Conrad.

On the maternal side of her family, she is a niece of two child stars of the 1970s, Kim Richards and Kyle Richards. Hilton was related by marriage to Nicole Richie's godmother, Nancy Davis, when Nancy's brother, Greg, was married to Kim Richards.

Hilton's paternal grandparents are hotel chairman Barron Hilton, and his wife, the former Marilyn Hawley; Barron Hilton's parents were Hilton Hotels founder Conrad Hilton and his first wife, Mary Barron.

Hilton moved between several exclusive homes in her youth, including a suite in the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Manhattan, Beverly Hills, and the Hamptons. She attended her freshman year of high school at the Marywood-Palm Valley School in Rancho Mirage, California and then the Dwight School in New York for her sophomore and junior years. She was then transferred to the Canterbury School, in New Milford, Connecticut where she was a member of the hockey team. However, in early 1999, she was expelled for violating the school rules. Hilton later earned her GED.

In December 2007, Hilton's grandfather Barron Hilton pledged 97 percent of his estate to a charitable organization founded by his father, the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. An immediate pledge of $1.2 billion was made, with a further $1.1 billion due after his death. He cited his father's actions as the motivation for his pledge. According to reports, the potential inheritance of his grandchildren is sharply diminished.

Paris Hilton: Career

Hilton has worked as a model, actress, musician, and engaged in sometime business pursuits. According to Forbes Magazine, she earned approximately $2 million in 2003-2004, $6.5 million in 2004-2005, and $7 million in 2005-2006.

Paris Hilton – As a model

She has appeared in numerous advertising campaigns, including Iceberg Vodka, GUESS, Tommy Hilfiger, Christian Dior, and Marciano. In 2001, Hilton began to develop a reputation as a socialite, being identified as "New York's leading It Girl" whose fame was beginning to "extend beyond the New York tabloids". She has appeared in several magazines, including the April 2004 issue of Maxim.

She also earned a nomination for "Best Frightened Performance" at the 2006 MTV Movie Awards. She landed her first lead roles in 2006 with the straight-to-DVD releases National Lampoon's Pledge This! and Bottom's Up. She plays the Hottie in a romantic comedy called The Hottie and the Nottie, released in 2008. As of August 2007, Hilton is part of the cast of Repo! the Genetic Opera, which began filming in September 2007.

Television

Hilton co-starred with Nicole Richie in the Fox reality series The Simple Life, which premiered on December 2, 2003. The Simple Life ran for three seasons on Fox. The show was cancelled by Fox after a dispute between Hilton and Richie, but it was subsequently aired by E! Entertainment Television for the fourth and fifth seasons. Despite talks of a sixth season, the series finished its run at the end of the fifth season. In March 2008, it was reported that Hilton would star in a new MTV reality series tentatively titled "Paris Hilton's My New BFF", about her looking for a new best friend. The series is to run for ten episodes from October to December, 2008.

Hilton has also guest-starred in episodes of The O.C., The George Lopez Show, Las Vegas, American Dreams and Veronica Mars. Furthermore, she appeared in several music videos, including "It Girl" by John Oates and "Just Lose It" by Eminem. Paris Hilton – As a recording artist
Paris (2006).

Hilton founded Heiress Records, a sub-label of Warner Bros. Records, in 2004 and released her self-titled debut album, Paris, under that label on August 22, 2006. Although the album reached number six on the Billboard 200 for a week, its total sales volume has been low. All Music Guide commented that the album was "more fun than anything released by Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson, and a lot fresher, too." On the whole, critical reception was mixed. On July 16, 2007 Hilton confirmed that she was working on a new album with producer Scott Storch. In a recent interview with MTV, Hilton decided that her second album is going to be a dance album. She stated that she "loves Bob Sinclair" and wants to create dance-music vibe. Hilton has installed a professional recording studio in her house to work on the album. At a meet and greet in Montreal, Hilton stated that her album is to be released sometime in 2008.

Paris Hilton – As an author

In the autumn of 2004, Hilton released an autobiographical book, Confessions of an Heiress: A Tongue-in-Chic Peek Behind the Pose, co-written by Merle Ginsberg, which includes full color photographs of her and her advice on life as an heiress. Hilton reportedly received a $100,000 advance payment for this book. Some in the media panned the writing as amateurish, and the book was parodied by Robert Mundell on The Late Show with David Letterman. The book became a New York Times bestseller. Hilton followed it up with a designer diary, also with Ginsberg, called Your Heiress Diary: Confess It All to Me.

Paris Hilton: Activism

Paris Hilton – Animal rights

In 2007, after watching a graphic video about animals raised for their fur, Hilton announced her support of vegetarianism and her opposition to wearing fur. Hilton said:

Hilton helped design a collection of purses for Japanese label Samantha Thavasa, and also a jewelry line for Amazon.com. In 2004, Hilton was involved in the creation of a perfume line by Parlux Fragrances. Originally set to be a small release, high demand led to a wider release before December 2004. The launch was followed by a 47 percent increase in sales of Parlux products, predominantly due to sales of the Hilton-branded perfume. After the success of Hilton's perfume, Parlux Fragrances released several more perfumes with her name, including fragrances for men. Paris Hilton launched a new fragrance in October 2007, called Can Can. This is her fourth women's fragrance after Paris Hilton, Just Me, and Heiress. In January 2007, Hilton released the DreamCatchers line of hair extensions in partnership with Hair Tech International. In early August 2007, Hilton signed a licensing agreement with Antebi for a signature footwear line, "Paris Hilton Footware", featuring stilettos, platforms, flats, wedges, and a sports collection, expected to reach stores in 2008. In mid August 2007, Hilton launched a line of tops, dresses, coats, and jeans at Kitson boutique in Los Angeles.

In 2005, Hilton lent her name to a chain of nightclubs owned by Fred Khalilian and known as Club Paris. This association ended in January 2007 after she had failed to attend several scheduled promotional appearances.

In December 2007, Hilton joined in promotion of RICH Prosecco, an Italian sparkling wine sold in cans rather than bottles. Hilton went to Germany to promote the drink.

Paris Hilton: Personal life

Hilton was engaged to fashion model Jason Shaw from mid-2002 to early 2003. In 2003-2004 she had a relationship with singer Nick Carter. Later she was engaged to Greek shipping heir Paris Latsis, from May 29, 2005 to November 2005. Thereafter, she began dating another Greek shipping heir, Stavros Niarchos III, before breaking up in May 2006. She is currently dating the guitarist of the band Good Charlotte, Benji Madden.

In May 2008, Hilton announced her intention to marry Madden during a gushing interview with television talk-show host David Letterman. Hilton waxed lyrical about what a great couple they were, while flashing his initials in bling on her ring finger.

Hilton told Live with Regis and Kelly: "One-night stands are not for me. I think it's gross when you just give it up. Guys want you more, if you don't just hand it to them on a platter."

Hilton loves small dogs, and owns a Yorkshire Terrier and a female Chihuahua named Tinkerbell. Hilton is frequently seen carrying Tinkerbell (dubbed an "accessory dog") at social events and functions, and in all five seasons of television reality show The Simple Life. In 2004, Tinkerbell "authored" a memoir, The Tinkerbell Hilton Diaries. On August 12, 2004, Tinkerbell went missing after Hilton's apartment was burglarized, and a $5,000 reward was offered for her safe return. She was found six days later. By December 1, 2004, Tinkerbell was again spotted with Paris Hilton at various events. Hilton has also purchased a male Chihuahua on July 25, 2007 from Pets of Bel Air in Los Angeles.

A four-year-old homemade sex video of Hilton and then-boyfriend Rick Salomon was leaked on the Internet in 2003, later released as the DVD 1 Night in Paris despite attempted legal action. It appeared a week prior to the premiere of The Simple Life.

Paris Hilton – Driving violations

In September 2006, Hilton was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol content of 0.08%, the level at which it is illegal to drive in California. Hilton's driving license was subsequently suspended in November 2006, and in January 2007 she pleaded no contest to the alcohol-related reckless driving charge. Her punishment was 36 months' probation and fines of about $1,500. On January 15, 2007, Hilton was pulled over for driving with a suspended license and signed a document acknowledging that she was not permitted to drive. On February 27, 2007 Hilton was caught driving 70 mph in a 35 mph zone, again with a suspended license. She also did not have her headlights on even though it was after dark. Prosecutors in the office of the Los Angeles City Attorney charged that those actions, along with the failure to enroll in a court-ordered alcohol education program, constituted a violation of the terms of her probation.

Paris Hilton's booking photograph

On May 4, 2007 Hilton was sentenced by Judge Michael T. Sauer to 45 days in jail for violating her probation. Initially, Hilton planned to appeal the sentence, and supported an online petition asking California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger for a pardon. The petition was created and organized on May 5, 2007 by Joshua Morales. In response, various opponents started a counter-petition to maintain the sentence. Both petitions attracted tens of thousands of signatures. Hilton later switched lawyers and dropped her plans to appeal.

Hilton was required to begin her jail term on June 5, 2007, and checked herself into the Century Regional Detention Facility, an all-female jail in Lynwood, California after attending the 2007 MTV Movie Awards on June 3, 2007. With credit for good behavior, it was anticipated that Hilton would only serve 23 days of her 45-day sentence; however, in an unexpected turn of events, Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca signed orders on the morning of June 7, reassigning Hilton to 40 days of home confinement with an electronic monitoring device due to an unspecified medical condition. Baca commented on the release saying, "My message to those who don't like celebrities is that punishing celebrities more than the average American is not justice," contesting that under normal circumstances, Hilton would not have served any time in jail, and he added that "The special treatment, in a sense, appears to be because of her celebrity status … She got more time in jail". On the same day that Hilton was released from jail, Judge Michael Sauer summoned her to reappear in court the following morning (June 8) as the sentencing statement had explicitly said she would serve time in jail with "No work furlough. No work release. No electronic monitoring." At the hearing he declined to be briefed by Hilton's attorney in private chambers on the nature of her condition and sent her back to jail to serve out her original 45-day sentence. Upon hearing the sentence, Hilton shouted, "It's not right!" and started screaming, requesting to hug her mother who was present in the courtroom. Concern about Hilton's condition led to her being moved to the medical wing of the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles, and she was moved back to the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood on June 13.

While in jail, Hilton was influenced by prison minister Marty Angelo: Hilton referred to starting a "new beginning" during her interview with talk show host Larry King on June 28, 2007, two days after being released from jail, and quoted from Angelo's autobiography, entitled Once Life Matters: A New Beginning. On June 9, 2007 Marty Angelo petitioned sentencing Sauer asking to serve out the remainder of Hilton's jail sentence if the judge would release her to an alternative treatment program, but the petition was turned down.

Hilton was released from jail on June 26, 2007. In total, Hilton served 22 days in detention, counting her day-long home confinement. Hilton announced she would be visiting Rwanda in November 2007 as a post-jail vow, but has since postponed the trip until an undetermined date in 2008.

Paris Hilton: Controversy

Paris Hilton has been quoted as saying that she is the "iconic blonde of the decade"' and compared herself to Princess Diana and Marilyn Monroe (a claim she denied in the May 2007 issue of Harper's Bazaar). She will reportedly appear in the 2007 Guinness World Records as the world's "Most Overrated Celebrity". In a poll conducted by the Associated Press and AOL, Hilton was voted the second "Worst Celebrity Role Model of 2006", behind Britney Spears. Critics suggest that Hilton epitomizes the title of famous for being famous; echoing that sentiment, the Associated Press conducted what they called an experiment in February 2007, trying not to report on Hilton for a whole week.

Hilton recently posed nude, covered in gold paint, to promote "Rich Prosecco", a canned version of an Italian sparkling wine.

In June 2008 on The Graham Norton Show Sharleen Spiteri revealed that she was recently involved in an argument with Paris Hilton in a London club.

Paris Hilton – Alleged Racism

In January 2007 a video surfaced on the commercial website ParisExposed.com in which Paris Hilton uses homophobic and ethnic slurs. Hilton appears to mock African-Americans and Jews at a party during the song We Are Family by Sister Sledge. In addition to vast quantities of genital herpes medication such as Aciclovir and Valtrex, the video was found among Hilton's personal and medical documents in a storage facility which were auctioned off after allegedly failing to pay the bill. Hilton's publicist Elliot Mintz confirmed to the New York Post its authenticity saying she had obviously been drinking. On February 3, 2007 Hilton obtained a temporary injunction against ParisExposed.com, closing down the website for a short period of time before it went back online.

Michael Jackson,Jacko the hobo’s worldwide trail of debt

Posted by Monster

Sitting with a group of friends at Aldo's Italian restaurant in Wyckoff, New Jersey, the small figure in their midst was defending his reputation as a global superstar: "I know it looks like I'm not popular anymore but, trust me, if I wanted attention, I could get it.

"One call and there'd be paparazzi all over the place."

Everyone at the table was silent, shifting awkwardly in their seats.

"I'll make the call now," the man continued, gesturing for a security guard to hand him a phone. "Watch what happens."

It was the final straw. "No. Don't do it, Mike," pleaded one of the diners. "We believe you."

Smiling, the man handed the phone back to his functionary. "OK, but if you ever want me to prove it, just say the word."

It was, to say the least, a curious display from a man who was once the greatest pop talent in the world.

For that anonymous figure in a suburban New Jersey eatery was Michael Jackson – the same man who, 25 years ago this week, took the world by storm with his album Thriller, which went on to sell more than 100 million copies and remains the biggest selling album of all time.

By any normal reckoning, Thriller should have set up Jackson for life. But as he approaches his 50th birthday next year, the one-time superstar is in desperate trouble.

Hugely in debt, he has no recording contract, no real career and no proper home. There have also been rumours of drug abuse.

Jackson with Prince Abdullah (left) and friend in Bahrain two years ago

For the past two years, he and his children ten-year-old Prince, daughter Paris, nine, and five-year-old Prince II (nicknamed Blanket) – have drifted from one country to another.

Their peripatetic existence began as soon as Jackson's court ordeal over charges of child molestation ended.

In May 2005, he was cleared on seven counts of abusing a 14-year-old boy, Gavin Arvizo, in a five-month trial that shone a harsh spotlight on Jackson's peculiar world.

Traumatised by the whole experience, he fled California for Bahrain, where he and his children stayed for about a year with Prince Abdullah, son of the King of Bahrain, who agreed to pay all of the party's expenses.

Then, it was off for a nine-month trip to Japan, England and Ireland, where he was the guest of dancer Michael Flatley.

The invisible kids: Jacko often disguises his children

But his most recent pitstop was, perhaps, the strangest one yet.

In mid-August, Michael Jackson and his three children showed up on the doorstep of his old friends Dominic and Connie Cascio, restaurateurs in upmarket Franklin Lakes, New Jersey.

Michael has known the Cascios since the Eighties, when he practically adopted the family as his own and employed one of their five children.

And though they hadn't seen Jackson since a brief holiday in 2005, the family was – according to one source – "excited when he called and said he wanted to hang out with them again, this time at their home . . .

"The next day, there he was, suitcases in hand, like a hobo with a bunch of kids. It was the strangest thing in the world."

Locals who occasionally spotted the star eating in neighbourhood restaurants were astonished.

Greeting the press as the man behind the mask

But as one source told me last week: "To him, it's just one big adventure. Nothing fazes the guy. He's all about his kids, anyway. As long as he has his kids, he's fine."

While one has to wonder what effect this rootless lifestyle is having on his children, Michael is, by all accounts, a loving father.

"He spends all of his time making sure the children are happy," one former attorney tells me. "They're schooled at home by their nanny, Grace Rwaramba.

"All three treat Grace, who is from Rwanda, as they would a mum. They love her madly. Michael does, too. He's a big kid himself and plays silly games with the kids.

He's also strict – they're well-mannered. He doesn't let them out of his sight."

But what about the fact that the children are usually camouflaged in scarves and ornate masks whenever they appear in public?

Jackson's defenders insist that they are so used to it they think of it as just another of daddy's "silly games". They also point out that Jackson is desperate to shield them from kidnap.

Jackson has even worn Muslim women's clothes in an attempt to blend in

But as one security adviser to the stars says: "To a certain extent, his tactics seem to be more about his ego than about security.

It's as if he wants the public's perception to be that he's a bigger star than anyone else has ever been in history – so big that he has no choice but to take drastic measures to protect his children.

"If anything, his tactics bring more attention to the kids, not less. The fact that he sometimes goes around wearing traditional Muslim garb suggests to me that it's about creating a spectacle around himself, not about security. He's like a kid wanting attention. Only he's not a kid, is he?"

It seems like just yesterday when he was a kid, though. I well remember the summer of 1981 when I was invited to watch Quincy Jones produce a new recording by Michael at the Westlake Studios in Los Angeles.

At the time, I was a fledgling reporter working for a black newspaper called Soul magazine.

When I got to the studio, Jones was at the console with recording engineer Bruce Swedien. The two were bobbing their heads and snapping their fingers to the musical track of Thriller.

The sound was incredible: all bass, guitars and horns. But no Michael Jackson, yet – just the music.

"This song is going to be a hit," Jones told me. "When Michael lays down his vocals, this thing will blow up."

As Jones spoke, Jackson sauntered into the studio. At 23, he was just a wisp of a young man, wearing a baseball cap in a jaunty way, and sunglasses, though it was night.

Friendly and outgoing, he was nothing like the elusive and enigmatic Michael we now know.

"Sure, you can stay and watch," he told me. "But you can never write about it. That's the way it has to be. OK?"

I protested, of course: but in the end I agreed. And until now, I kept my promise.

Actually, not much happened that night anyway. Jackson recorded a few bars of Thriller, then said he had a cold and couldn't hit the right notes and left.

Over the years, I've often thought about that evening, for the eventual global success of Thriller turned out to be a blessing and a curse to Jackson.

Having written two biographies of the star, I witnessed at close hand how the sheer scale of the Thriller phenomenon forced Jackson to deal with a level of scrutiny for which he was ill-prepared.

Smooth: Jackson at the height of his fame

He became reclusive and strange. He resorted to plastic surgery. He developed a fascination with young boys.

Then, as we all know, he was accused of sexual molestation – first, in 1993 by Jordie Chandler (he settled that case for more than £10 million), and then, ten years later, by Gavin Arvizo, which led to the criminal charges against him.

I attended every day of Jackson's trial, sitting directly behind him. And when he was finally acquitted – leaving the courtroom a free man but with his reputation in tatters – I hoped Jackson would go on to lead a more responsible life.

The signs are not encouraging. For Jackson seems to have no conscience at all when it comes to confronting his financial obligations.

It's as if he feels that people don't require payment for their services. That's why so many who work for him – attorneys, business managers, accountants – usually end up suing him for payment.

Such litigation often drags on for years, with Jackson finally losing the case. But even then, the victor has to queue and wait for payment of the judgment – which seldom occurs.

Even Prince Abdullah, the royal who bailed out Michael by giving him a place to live in exile after the trial, has fallen out with his old friend over unpaid debts.

As Roger Freidman, an American journalist who is one of the foremost authorities on Jackson's finances, explains: "For one year, the prince underwrote Jackson's life in Bahrain – everything including living accommodation, guests, security and transportation.

"The prince built Jackson a state of the art recording studio and gave him a £3.5 million advance to record two albums.

"And what did Jackson do? He left for Japan and then Ireland. He took the money and moonwalked right out the door.

"This is the real Michael Jackson. He has never returned a phone call from the prince since he left Bahrain."

Prince Abdullah is suing Jackson in London's High Court, seeking the return of his £3.5 million, plus damages.

But perhaps the greatest worry for Jackson is the £11.5 million loan that he secured against his Neverland ranch to help pay for his legal bills and extravagant lifestyle.

He has just six weeks to pay back the loan to a company named Fortress Investments or Neverland will be put up for sale to the highest bidder.

Yet, strangely, that prospect does not alarm Jackson. For while Neverland, with its private fairground and menagerie of animals, was once his most treasured possession, it means nothing to him now.

He's been back only once since the trial ended – and that was just to pack his things and leave for good.

Today, Neverland is in such disrepair that it would take millions just to get the place back in shape. And even if Jackson's advisers find a way to save it, he doesn't want to live there.

"It's best to just let Fortress be stuck with it," notes one person in Jackson's camp.

"What effect will the forced sale have on Michael Jackson? Ruin his credit? That ship sailed a long time ago."

If such behaviour seems reckless, even by Jacko's standards, then what many fail to appreciate is that he already feels he escaped a fate worse than death: a life behind bars.

That prospect truly terrified him. He knew he would never be able to cope inside.

After the trial, he went into intensive private therapy to come to terms with the public humiliation. But, finally, he came to the conclusion that whatever problems he faced in the future could only pale in comparison to what might have been.

So he decided to focus on his children and on his freedom, and not worry about any practical matters such as where he was going to live or how he was going to pay for it.

The result has been a near-total meltdown of his financial affairs.

One of his business advisers relayed a story to me that is highly revealing. A couple of months ago, he and Jackson had a meeting in Las Vegas to discuss his finances.

In order even to book the meeting, the adviser had to tell the singer that it concerned a possible music deal.

Only once he had Jackson in a chair in front of him did he reveal his real intention. He laid out the dismal situation regarding various lawsuits, settlements and default notices.

As he did so, Jackson stared at him over his reading glasses, his expression blank.

Finally, Jackson said: "Are you finished?" The adviser said "Yes."

Michael then said: "Fine. Work it out, then, will you, please? I've got things to do." And he got up and left.

So how does Michael Jackson survive? And where does he get his money from?

In fact, savings and royalties continue to support his lifestyle. There is also the money generated by his 50 per cent interest in Sony/ATV Music Publishing, which includes much of The Beatles' catalogue.

His lawyers may claim that Jackson doesn't have the money to settle his debts – but, in fact, he spends about £500,000 a month on his lavish lifestyle.

Moreover, if he sold the Sony/ATV catalogue today, Michael's share would bring him £250 million.

Jackson already has a £160million loan secured against that share. But even if that amount was deducted – together with all the other outstanding settlements – he'd still be left with well over £50million.

That's obviously a huge sum, but at the rate Jackson goes through money, it would last him, perhaps, eight years. And what then? Release another album?

Cynics say there's no way he could ever get a recording contract. They say he presents such a liability these days that no one would ever want to sign him.

But while that may be the case in the U.S., Jackson has sold more than 750 million records worldwide.

There would be many international labels who would be only too happy to sign him up, if that is what he really wanted.

The trouble is that Jackson so loathed his final years with Sony that he never again wants to feel enslaved to a record label.

As for persistent rumours that he will reunite with his brothers for a Jackson family reunion tour, that's simply not going to happen. He's not interested in touring.

"He feels he's done it all," says one of his attorneys. "He's not going to spend his 50s killing himself on the road."

His brothers sense a more sinister influence at work.

They are upset about the increasing dependence Michael has on his children's nanny, Grace Rwaramba, and fear that she's been keeping them from him.

"We have to get him away from her," Jermaine Jackson has fretted.

Some family members even believe that Michael has a serious drug problem and needs immediate attention.

But sources inside Jackson's camp tell me that though he did, indeed, once have a serious dependency on painkillers, he has managed to kick the habit.

"He's clear-eyed and not on any kind of drugs at this time,' one intimate insists. 'That problem is well behind him. It was a consequence of the trial."

Black leader the Rev Jesse Jackson, who saw Jackson a few months ago, confirms: "He was healthy, spry and effervescent when I saw him."

Indeed, some friends insist that despite all the woes that surround him, Michael has never been happier.

Unlikely as it may seem, I suspect they may be right.

For rootless and rudderless as he is, Jackson has retreated to the only place where he still feels safe – a place where the reality of his existence cannot haunt him, a home he can take anywhere in the world and where even his closest family cannot intrude.

It's called fool's paradise.

I will not strip Again:-Natalie Portman

Posted by Ragpre

I Won't Do Nude Scenes Again: NatalieNatalie Portman has vowed that she will never strip again for screen after filming a risqué scene for her new short movie “Hotel Chevalier”.

Portman’s nude shots will soon be available on the Internet even before the film is officially released. And she is upset that she agreed to do something that was awkward in the prelude to “The Darjeeling Limited” directed by Wes Anderson, contactmusic.com reports.

Portman has insisted that she was convinced that nude scenes were required for the movie.

Portman, who requested director Mike Nichols to cut the nudity from “Closer” and used a body double for “Goya’s Ghosts’, said that she felt it was right to do bare scenes in the latest film.

She said, “I don’t know why, exactly. Sometimes you make rules for yourself and sometimes those rules are made to be broken. You have to test things out and see what works for you, and this felt right.

“I’m really sorry I didn’t listen to my intuition. From now on, I’m going to trust my gut more. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is to say no.”

The Academy-award nominated star also said that she urged director Wes Anderson to give her a chance to work with him.

“I begged Wes to work with me and show me a script. I really loved it. He has the finest taste possible,” she said.
